Managing FLIC’s programme, Katy Palmer ​is a Year Here fellow with 10 years of varied experience nurturing communities across technology start-ups (Codeworks), education (Into Film) and the charity sector (Shelter). 

 

Katy is a trustee of Clapton Commons charity and a Charity Comms Mentor to women in the third sector, bringing  content production experience working in a Spanish coding start-up and several UK charities. Her previous roles as a brand manager at Shelter and at an innovative East End charity involved working with senior stakeholders, GPs, trustees, consultants, community organisers and creative freelancers on a daily basis.

Katy studied production at the National Film and Television School, her team winning a BAFTA for Best British Short Film. She has led projects at Mencap, the Floating Cinema, and the Bromley by Bow Centre, across disability, film, and education.
